My freshman year in college I had a professor gather my class around a computer to show us the latest thing in technology…the Internet. I remember thinking, what the heck are we going to use this for? Ha. Well, times have changed over the past 18 years. My thinking now is – how did we ever live without it?
However, I have no clue how the Internet works and, honestly, I’ve never put too much thought into how information can get sent around the world instantaneously. Magically.
For the first time, Google has let us see inside their data centers. These recently released pictures won’t tell you much about how it all works, but it is pretty cool to see the massive infrastructure that helps make it work. I love that Google had fun with the décor by using their brand colors to color code everything.
