Anyone who knows me well, knows I love just about anything dark, spooky, or scary. I’m also crazy about good advertising and marketing. So, natch, I was thrilled to stumble across this fun site by Korean car maker, Hyundai, because it combines both interests beautifully in what can only be called “Zombie Marketing.”
Now, I can forgive Hyundai’s bandwagoning on the back of a great comic book (not to mention of one of the most popular shows on television), solely because the concept is so cool: over the next few months, you can follow along as Hyundai partners with The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, to develop a Zombie Survival Machine based on Hyundai’s Elantra coupe. The fully-custom (but, something tells me, not-quite-street-legal) vehicle will be unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con on July 11, 2012.
And while the Zombie Survival Machine is a one-off, you can still visit the site and face the zombie apocalypse in grisly style by entering a chance to win a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT custom-wrapped in the cover of The Walking Dead Issue #100, created by artist, Charlie Adlard.
