Changemakers Need Change Too

Aurora is a region rife with possibility and potential — and the Aurora Economic Development Council (AEDC) is devoted to galvanizing that potential. From conception to site selection to the final ribbon cutting, AEDC provides its partners with insights, guidance, and connections they need to realize their vision and complete projects that create jobs and fuel economic growth. Now it was time for them to rebrand and establish themselves with an identity they could use for many years to come.

A New Brand For New Possibilities

With a client list ranging from local government to Fortune 500 companies, Aurora Economic Development Council needed a brand that could not only speak to and attract the vast spectrum of potential partners out there but also give them the credence and authority to earn the trust needed to make deals that would positively affect their entire region.

A Catalyst for Something Special

After learning all we could about AEDC through conversations, research, and visiting sites one thing became very clear: AEDC was the catalyst for bringing in major employers in the region — creating jobs and fueling growth. We had found the inspiration we were looking for.

We established a narrative identity that plainly and easily communicated their value while also leaning hard into the confidence and authority the group would need to attract some of the nation’s largest companies. “Recognizing Possibility. Maximizing Results.” became the new tagline, succinctly distilling what anyone can expect when working with AEDC.

Gathering Momentum

To reflect the pivotal role that AEDC plays in moving their region forward, the visual brand was developed to evoke the idea of progressive movement and momentum. During development, we also created a dynamic, modular logo system that maximized the flexibility of use — an important aspect for an organization that often puts its logo in multiple places such as for event sponsorships. The bright, energetic design language with its strong visual cues also helped simplify the website in the next stage.

New Digital Digs

The new brand was in place! Now it needed a home. AEDC’s old website was overly large, making it difficult to navigate. Our developers worked to create a whole new sitemap, streamlining the experience for visitors and placing AEDC’s services and expertise at the forefront.

  • Sitemap was cut in half from over 70 pages to about 35.
  • Numerous statistics modules gave an objective look at Aurora’s potential.
  • AOR assisted in carrying over the new brand voice to the website.
